The only thing that you most definitely have to know is the location of the
library. I'm a bibliophile and a polyglot who knows that you cannot break the
shackles of self-doubt, fear, negativity, and laziness if you don't make
conscious lifestyle changes. I joined TICC in 2019, and I have grown, learned,
and improved over time. Mental health, to me, means a mind at peace. I believe
that venting out isn't a sign of weakness. It means you are strong enough to know
what's wrong and take efforts to redesign. Live life to express, not to impress,
and say what you feel.
I love to talk and engage in conversations, a national player in roller hockey.
I’ve always been passionate about helping people in non-pharmaceutical ways and
TICC provides me with that platform. I strongly feel that when a person gets to
express their feelings in aconsiderate environment, half of the problem solves
there. As a mental health evangelist, I fiercely believe that it's time we stop
stigmatizing and off- limiting the term 'mental health' and give it the due
importance it deserves. You are enough as you are!
"It's not about how bad you want it, it's about how hard you are willing to work
for it!" is the quote I live by. I always wanted to be a part of an initiative
that somehow helps the one in need. I want to learn new things and also develop
the art of keeping the mind at peace even when there's chaos on the outside. I
ould like to eliminate the stigma related to people suffering from mental health
issues are discriminated and seen in a negative light, instead of being helped.
I wish to be able to help and guide all those I can towards a better version of
themselves. I also want to leave a mark in the future of TICC with all the work
I do, that be in my department or overall. "Hope is a good thing Red, maybe the
best of things."
I like to help people, so the purpose behind
joining TICC was very clear. According to me good mental health is determined by
the quality of one’s thoughts and feelings. I believe mental health should be
made more accessible, and that the stigma around accessing them. should be
removed completely.
"A little bit of empathy can change the entire world." With this belief, I
became a part of TICC to be able to help someone in need. I carry the goal to
eradicate the stigma that exists in our society regarding mental health and make
people understand that, "It is okay to not be okay sometimes." I hope that after
my tenure in the cell, I come out as a person who is more expressive and
empathetic towards others. "I am healing everyday, and so will you" is what I
believe in.
My keen interest in Neuroscience and Human Psychology enticed me to join
the Counselling cell. I want to eliminate the social stigma regarding mental
health because people aren't yet open to talking about their trauma or any
other thing, they had an encounter with.
I believe everything happens for good reason and sometimes not getting what you
want is a huge stroke of luck. I abide by this every single day, and always look
at that brighter side to every situation!
Something about the working of the mind has always fascinated me from a very
young age and growing up I realised how important it is to keep our mind stable
healthy and at peace and that has always drawn me for things pertaining to
mental health and I’ve always been passionate about it
I love to do photography, and I like to sing too.
The reason behind applying for TICC was clear- I liked the concept of openly
talking about mental health in an atmosphere and society where people try to
hide their mental illness.
According to me, mental health means state of mind wherein one doesn't feel
pressurized and is able to express how they feel about various things related to
them! I believe in living life to the fullest.
Life should be lived large, doesn't matter how long it is.
I like capturing moments through my lens.
Being a December admission student, it’s been a rough journey here at Thapar.
Being a very stubborn individual, it was hard for me to accept that I was
mentally unwell. Because of a series of fortunate events I was pushed towards
the Counselling Cell. For me, mental health means the peace of mind.
TICC has always been a safe place, where I can express my feelings openly. I
wanted to learn
more about human psychology and how to solve problems at the level of mind,
that's
why, I joined TICC. Getting an opportunity to work as a Lead Ambassador under
the
guidance of Dr. Sonam Dullat and Ms. Garima Garg was a cherry on the cake. It
has
changed me, given me a better perspective on life and people.
Mental health is a realm of sanity and calmness of mind. I consider it as a
graph that is constantly growing with its highs and lows.
Its important because we have to live in this mind of ours, till the end, so
make it a better place to live in.
I have a keen interest in Expressive art and Handwriting Analysis. I think it
gives me a different way to perceive people. I joined TICC because I wanted to
reach out to more people who need our help; especially those who feel
inferiority complex and hesitate to get help from a professional. To me, mental
health has always been about Mind and Body being at peace. I believe that
happiness and contentment can be achieved by a communal effort, so Let’s hear
and spread happiness!
I am a tech enthusiast and artist. From my experience, I know how
difficult it can be to ask for help and to get the required help.
I joined TICC to help make the journey of these individuals a little
easier. According to me, good mental health is when we start to
understand the importance of being ourselves and embrace the
relentless strength we possess.
I have been quite negative in the past about things happening and I would
like
to be a part in spreading the awareness about mental health as i felt the
same
way. By being part of TIC, I want to expand my skills set and knowledge
about
mental health. I really want to remove the negative self talk that we all
do. my
favorite quote is "one day at a time "
One of my main reasons for joining TICC was to help someone going through a
hard
time. I expect to become more empathetic and more comfortable as an
individual
after my tenure here.
"Be kind to the unkind, they need it the most",I've been trying to live by
this
quote from quite some time now. The country we've been living in needs some
serious attention on mental health and I'm trying to contribute towards
this. My
motive is to spread awareness towards mental health and to make sure that no
one
around me is ashamed to ask for help!
I am a Masters Psychology student. I joined TICC last year, my experience so
far
is amazing. I wanted to spread awareness regarding mental health and
eradicate
the stigma associated with it. In TICC, we spread awareness through our
Instagram handle and let’s talk sessions.Talking about Lets talk sessions,
they
are like a group therapy which provides us with the safe space to vent
without
being judged.
Mental health to me is being at peace with your mind and what better
place to learn that than TICC. I became part of this team to surround
myself with people who openly discuss mental health and actively work
towards betterment of it. Being part of this team I
expect to grow as a more empathetic person and improve my mental health
along the way.
Mental health is not a destination but a process. Its about how you drive
not
where you’re going. Through TICC, I would like to spread awareness about
Mental
health. Mental health is something that we all need to talk about, and we
need
to take the stigma away from it. Let everybody know it’s OK to have a mental
illness.
Mental Health illness is like a ship stuck in the Suez Canal and I want to
act a
crew member and help people to get out of that Ship. I expect to gain
knowledge
by choice, without burden and with mental peace. If chirag got a chirag with
jinn in it, three wished would be confident, patience and happiness for all
by
all
I have many interests varying from acting, public speaking to dancing and
football. I Joined TICC to make a difference , to understand people and be
there
for anyone and everyone who is need. Mental health for me is the way one
takes
life, it varies from the way you wake up in the morning to the mood with
which
you go to bed.
Hi!
I am Gunjeev, your friendly neighbourhood Spi…
Anyway, I am someone you can always reach out to, to discuss, debate and
talk
about any and every thing in this world!
From a very young age I wanted to understand people and help people out. For
the
sole purpose of doing my bit by making society a little more kind and safe
space
for people, I have joined The TICC team. If I could eradicate one thing in
regards of mental health, I ould remove the stigma or the taboo attached to
it.
"Nayi dhoop hai khidhkiyon pe ise ane de, andhere hai kis kaam ke hein jane
de",
this is what I live by.
Along with writing, reading and public speaking, I am good at building
relationships. I joined TICC so that no one has to go through what I did,
alone
and I am here to make sure no one does. Mental health goes beyond illness.
It's
understanding your emotions and moving on.
I believe everything happens for good reason and sometimes not getting what
you
want is a huge stroke of luck. I abide by this every single day, and always
look
at that brighter side to every situation!
I'm Mansimran Kaur, a student of masters of psychology. I enjoy gardening and
long drives. I like to interact with people and provide an ear to listen to.
Perhaps you wanted to find the councilling tab it should be the first link
in
the home page.
If you are checking to see how everyone is at the society they are genuinely
nice people trying their best to help to whomever comes here.
If you ask about me, I feel I am a decent/good listener and try my best to
help
them who consider me worthwhile sharing their problems with, and if I can't
help
them, I'll always be there to listen and may be share a laugh
I believe in what has to be done , has to be done and to do that in the
righteous way mental and physical well-being is must. Mental health is not
something to be ashamed of or embarrassed but needs to be talked-about
openly.
Feel free to contact me for any help or discussion concerning mental health.
We
are listening!!
